United States  participated in the Soundvision Song Contest 12 with the song "Fotia" written by Evangelia, Jay Stolar & Alexis Troy . P erformed 9th in the grand final, following Russia and preceding France. Following the jury vote, United States winning the contest with 99 points. On 10th December EBU announced that Cyprus (RIK) will host the 12th edition. Cyprus  participated in the Soundvision Song Contest 11 with the song "Xoreuo" written by Kristian Efremidis, Mixalis Xatzigiannis & Sofia Papavasiliou .
